Preparing your QuickBooks Development Environment

If you haven't already, the first step is to set up your QuickBooks development environment.

1. Request a Not-For-Resale version of QuickBooks and install it on a Windows machine or VM. When you open QuickBooks, you will be able to choose a sample company file to prepopulate realistic data.
2. If it didn't already come with the QuickBooks installation, install the Intuit QuickBooks Web Connector on the same machine or VM. Make sure you run the installer as Administrator.
3. Turn on verbose logging in the QuickBooks Web Connector to see more detailed logs (they are heavily truncated otherwise).
